TORRES CALZADILLA, Zaydelys Lucrecia; ALZURI BARRUETA, Noharis Sochi and LOPEZ RODRIGUEZ DEL REY, María Magdalena. Considerations for a proposal to promote reading in initial university teacher training. Conrado [online]. 2020, vol.16, n.77, pp. 252-257. Epub Dec 02, 2020. ISSN 1990-8644.
The analysis of the different views regarding teaching training, makes possible to assert the value attributed to reading promotion. When taken into consideration that this practice broadens the formative influence in both the student´s personal and professional behavior. Reading promotion is also a requirement that sustains a pedagogical tradition that is based on experiences and initiatives within the curriculum and other spaces inside and outside the university. However, despite systematic research on this matter that show reading promotion as part of a pedagogical tradition that involves the curriculum and the important role of school libraries in the general system of education, there are still flaws in the concretion of this process in teaching training programs at university level. The ideas presented in this paper constitute a referential framework that, due to its holistic approach, considers reading promotion in teaching training as a type of pedagogical activity and as content within formation. Reading promotion becomes a path to stimulate all aspects of the student integral formation when meeting the requirements stated on this paper.
