Abstract

GARCIA MOLINA, Irene. Tools for working on everyday scenarios of conflict with schoolchildren and adolescents with autism. Conrado [online]. 2020, vol.16, n.77, pp. 280-285.  Epub Dec 02, 2020. ISSN 1990-8644.

The present study aims to provide tools for teachers and professionals to construct scenarios for autistic schoolchildren and adolescents. These stories are designed to work on morality and theory of mind aspects. Starting from the items (i) visual stimuli, (ii) closeness, and (iii) the weight of intention, scenarios or stories can be built to work on a specific event in which a problem may have occurred. In addition, some guiding questions are also added as an intervention. It is highlighted that knowing where autistic people fail or how they understand the scenarios presented (about conflicts, failed attempts or moral transgressions), is key for knowing how they would act in that place, what they really think of similar situations, or even, detect possible situation of bullying.

Keywords : Autism; social situations; bullying; intention.
