Abstract

LLORET CATALA, Carmen; BOTELLA MARTINEZ, María; ALCANTUD DIAZ, María  and  SORIANO DEL CASTILLO, José Miguel. For a global and intercultural citizenship in accordance with the sustainable development goals. Conrado [online]. 2021, vol.17, n.78, pp. 7-15.  Epub Feb 02, 2021. ISSN 1990-8644.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) constitute a set of universal goals, targets and indicators that the UN member countries will use to frame their policies over the next fifteen years. Among the SDG 4 (quality education) goals we find: “ensure that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including, among others, through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship and appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture’s contribution to sustainable development." Thus, the objective of the present study is to promote intercultural education by informing, disseminating and raising awareness of the ODS of the United Nations Agenda 2030. To this end, a participatory diagnosis on the knowledge and attitudes generated by SDG in different age groups has been made. Following the analysis of the information, educational pills have been developed with the aim of raising awareness and increasing the degree of knowledge of the SDG to achieve global citizens educated in intercultural competences.
