Abstract

The research projects of the Universidad Regional Autónoma de Los Andes, allow to satisfy the basic needs of the humanity, to originate sustainable consumption modalities that guarantee the satisfaction of the basic needs of the poorest population, avoiding the unsustainable consumption modalities that are generally considered harmful for the environment. Being this topic so relevant, the present investigation was carried out considering as object of study the business sector of the province of Imbabura, the main objective of the same one was to determine if the companies of the province of Imbabura develop socially responsible practices, it with the purpose of incorporating a model of managerial social responsibility for the above mentioned entities, the methods that were used were the analytical synthetic one to summarize the bibliography; The logical history to support the trajectory of the background of corporate social responsibility and the inductive and deductive method to analyze the results obtained through the survey. As a result, it was determined that the companies have integrated concepts linked to social responsibility into their planning and as part of their business philosophy; furthermore, the workers and administrators of the companies in Imbabura consider that strategic planning is not executed with respect to the principles of corporate social responsibility.
