Abstract
GONZALEZ LIRA, Ana Laura; BECERRA SILVA, María Elsa and MORENO TAPIA, Javier. Teaching and learning in multigrade elementary schools in Mexico and Colombia. Conrado [online]. 2021, vol.17, n.79, pp. 351-359. Epub Apr 02, 2021. ISSN 1990-8644.
The purpose of this report has been to describe and analyze from the referential framework of sociocultural theory and with an interpretive perspective the results of a research work carried out in two multigrade primary schools: one in Colombia and the other in Mexico, offering a comparative approach on the teaching and learning processes and some related elements. The results reveal the complex work that represents for a teacher the attention to students of different school grades simultaneously in the same classroom, which requires specialized training as well as support tools, strategies and resources specially designed for this modality. Aspect that stands out as an important difference in Mexico and Colombia, the latter being a model to be highlighted, regarding the policies and support resources for the teacher of schools that operate with the multigrade organization. It concludes with the proposal of research aimed at the design of innovative and creative educational intervention models and practices focused on the context of the modality itself.
