Monitoring and evaluation are important components for rectifying sports training. The authors consider them as a necessity that allows the coach to order the various tasks of the process and offers an assessment of how the proposed objectives behave within the training plan. Handball is a sport of cooperation-opposition, simultaneous participation, invasion, uncertainty, goalkeepers demand vital control over their position, since it can especially influence, more than any other player, the outcome of a match, hence the importance acquired by the use of different control exercises during their preparation. The objective of this research is to assess the state of control and evaluation of the preparation of the handball goalkeepers, using the historical-logical, inductive-deductive, analytical-synthetic methods, the interview, observation, survey, analysis of documents and the empirical distribution of frequencies.
