This article proposes the analysis of scientific journalism and its space in the television channels Ecuavisa and TC Televisión of the city of Guayaquil. The methodology used in the article has a descriptive, exploratory and documentary design and its approach is mixed, qualitative-quantitative. For data collection, the bibliographic review, survey and interview were used. An intentional non-probabilistic sampling was applied to 30 students of Communication Sciences and two media professionals were interviewed, object of study. The purpose is to know if the students have an approach and interest in the programs with a scientific research structure. In addition, it is essential to evaluate the factors that influence the low production of news, segments or programs specialized in science journalism by the two analyzed media in relation to the work carried out by foreign media.
