Nursing from the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution, initiates a training of human resources to fulfill the Health Project in the institutions, they created several study plans, for auxiliaries up to the nursing graduates, for which we carried out a retrospective descriptive study, longitudinal, historical social, quantitative-qualitative, at the University of Medical Sciences of Cienfuegos on human capital graduated in nursing from the creation of the faculty to the present, with a total universe of graduates for the selected years, excluding years without graduation, the variables studied were undergraduate courses by meeting, regular daytime courses, the new training model and nursing technicians. The objective of the article is to analyze the behavior of the formation of human capital in Nursing. In the Conclusions, it can be highlighted that the University of Cienfuegos historically has experience in training nursing personnel in various modalities. Of the 33 years studied from 1985 to 2018, in 7 years (21.1%) no nursing staff was trained, so there has been a stable formation of human capital to meet the demands of the health networks in Cienfuegos.
