The research was developed within the parameters of the quantitative approach with a non-experimental, correlational, comparative design, with a non-probabilistic and intentional sample of 117 teachers. Data collection was carried out by sending an online questionnaire through a WhatsApp group. The results of the research highlighted the difficulties identified in non-university higher education teachers regarding the development of their digital competencies; likewise, it is shown that there are no statistical differences in the development of digital competencies in terms of gender, as well as time of service. However, it is shown that there are statistical differences in terms of the educational institution of origin.
