One of the main resources in the world is water, which is why Ecuador, as an active member of the sustainable development agenda, must guarantee access, management and sanitation by the year 2030 in compliance with its objectives. Water contamination has been caused by a series of viruses, bacteria and toxic substances that directly harm the ecosystem. Through surveys of the inhabitants of the Montalvo canton, it was found that there is great concern about the contamination of one of the main tributaries of the area such as the crystal river, which is why as a result of the research, it was found that the lack of an adequate system to process wastewater has directly affected the inhabitants of the area since it harms health, agriculture and tourism, creating the need for educational aids for better management of waste that is thrown into the rivers.
