Abstract

The reflection on music education in Colombia is anchored in the criticism of practices with a stormy bias in which a change in the pedagogical and didactic conceptions that sustain it is glimpsed. In this line, this communication is called to overcome the critical examination and find a basic reference for change. In correspondence with this purpose, the analysis of the reflections that take place today between teachers and musicologists allow us to identify where the change should go, taking as criteria the regulations, the conditions that favor or not the process, the training of music teachers, research and the way in which the cultural diversity of national identity should be assumed, in which music is not only an expression of the sound world but also an important part of the configuration of the individual and social being, an aspect that is considered the first commission of the music education in Colombia.
