Abstract
PALACIO GONZALEZ, Daniela Milagros et al. Aging and physical activity, a binomial for community social inclusion of the disabled elderly. Conrado [online]. 2022, vol.18, n.88, pp. 510-519. Epub Oct 27, 2022. ISSN 1990-8644.
Among the rights of the elderly and people with disabilities, equal opportunities and equal rights are advocated for participation in activities of the socio- cultural system in which they live. In the work, the general objective is defined: to analyze the behavior of the process of community social inclusion to the physical activity of a group of older adults with disabilities, of the Popular Council Camacho Libertad in Santa Clara. A quantitative and descriptive cross- sectional study was carried out due to its application in a single moment in time, we worked with a population of twenty older adults with disabilities from the Camacho Libertad community in Santa Clara, Villa Clara. Different research methods were used, including theoretical, empirical and statistical methods, with emphasis on the Likert-type survey. The poor behavior of the indicators to be taken into account for the access of older adults with disabilities to physical activity is evidenced, as an indication of social inclusion, highlighting the need for proposals where actions are combined for participation and permanence in physical practice- systematic education.
