This article summarizes the different approaches of a didactic and geographical nature used in the course of the teaching-learning process of Geography as an essential foundation for the third improvement of the National Education System and for the current educational conceptions of developer teaching.

The methodology used for the investigation was characterized by a qualitative investigation through the Dialectical Materialist approach as a general method of science, which facilitated penetrating the object of study, through theoretical, empirical and mathematical methods.

The research facilitated knowing the diversity of approaches used to improve Geography classes in pre-university education, through Geographic Education for sustainable development. Its results justify the search for didactic approaches that facilitate the necessary transformations with the purpose of promoting the leadership of the students and activating knowledge from a developer didactics.
