The research seeks to determine the process of detecting sports talents at an early age, emphasizing the children's category from 9 to 10 years, in the province of Azuay, it has a descriptive field scope, with a quantitative approach, using theoretical, empirical and statistical methods. - Mathematicians, the study population were children who attend the vacation camps of the Azuay Sports Federation 2022, anthropometric measurements and physical efficiency tests were applied, most of the children had practiced very little sports activities, obtaining, as a result, 41 2% of the children evaluated meet certain physical characteristics, to be considered as possible talents within taekwondo, thus being able to insert them into this sport so that they complete the initiation and training process, thus raising the competitive level within the province, in the same way to be able to implement this talent selection process in clubs s training, cantonal leagues and in the provincial sports federation, in order to promote this sport, thus having a solid base for obtaining long-term results at the world and Olympic level.
