Abstract

VIDAURRE-ROJAS, Pierre et al. Self-efficacy and entrepreneurial attitude in university Economic Science students during covid-19. Conrado [online]. 2023, vol.19, n.93, pp. 102-108.  Epub July 07, 2023. ISSN 1990-8644.

The pandemic has created global economic uncertainty, decreasing the confidence of university students in their entrepreneurial abilities. In this regard, we aimed to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and entrepreneurial attitude among students majoring in economics at a public university in Peru during the COVID-19 pandemic. To achieve this, we conducted a basic, quantitative, cross-sectional study with a descriptive-correlational approach. The population consisted of 1002 students enrolled in the 2020-I semester, and the sample comprised 278 students who completed a reliable survey. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with SPSS v.26 software. The results showed a prevailing moderate level of self-efficacy in 37.4% of students, as well as entrepreneurial attitude in 41.4%; additionally, we found a low positive correlation based on the Spearman's Rho coefficient (p-value<0.05; Rho=0.281) between the two variables. We conclude that there is a tendency, albeit limited, for self-efficacy levels to be related to entrepreneurial attitude among economics students during the pandemic.
