Abstract

HERNANDEZ SOTO, Jenny; LEYVA HAZA, Julio  and  GUERRA VELIZ, Yusimí. Physics laboratory practices in Basic Secondary School. Conrado [online]. 2024, vol.20, n.96, pp. 157-166.  Epub Feb 28, 2024. ISSN 1990-8644.

Currently, an educational process is being developed in Basic Secondary School aimed at developing reflective and critical thinking in students, which allows them to understand the economic, political and social reality that the country is experiencing and work towards its improvement. In this sense, the research that serves as the basis for this article responds to that conception. The main scientific result obtained is a methodology for the development of laboratory practices that integrates the use of the potential of the environment and the use of technologies. Its application was in a ninth grade group from the ¨ Santos Caraballe Abreu¨ Urban Basic Secondary School, in the Iguará community, in Yaguajay, Sancti Spiritus. Different theoretical, empirical and mathematical- statistical methods were used. It is based on daily personal and community experiences, from the scientific vision conferred by the physical contents studied. It demonstrated its effectiveness, as an increase in motivations was seen, as well as skills in carrying out experimental activities, based on the student protagonism achieved with the activities that were interesting and useful to them. The objective of this article is to socialize the methodology, which can be applied in other similar contexs, with its necessary adjustments.

Keywords : Use of the environment; Methodology for laboratory practices; Motivation for Physics; Integration of ICT.
