Abstract

At the international level, as a result of the high social unrest and the consolidation of increasingly heterogeneous societies, there is a strong debate about the need to promote positive interactions between different cultural groups, respect, tolerance, dialogue and cooperation framed in a climate of mutual trust and understanding. These are identified by Unesco and other international organizations as the best guarantors of peace and security. Today a characteristic feature of the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) is cultural diversity, which complicates the management and satisfaction of the interpersonal relationships that occur in the educational context and generates the need to improve the communicative performance of teachers for interculturality, which seeks to foster equitable interactions, based on respect, recognition and mutual understanding. Hence in this work we reflect on the demand and need for communicative performance for the interculturality of teachers in the Elam.
