VALDIVIA MESA, Arianet; RENTE LABRADA, Rosa María  and  VEGA ALMAGUER, Manuel. Integration of the enviromental dimension in the training of the Visual Comunicaction designer. Varona [online]. 2021, n.72, pp. 70-74.  Epub June 01, 2021. ISSN 1992-8238.

To address the ongoing environmental crisis, Communication Design professionals in Angola should be trained with more awareness and sustainable lifestyle approach. To this end, this work discloses the advances in the integration of the environmental dimension in the training of Visual Communication designers, as a result of the teaching and research collaboration of the Higher Design Institute of the University of Havana with the Design course at the Higher Polytechnic Institute of Huíla of the Mandume Ya Ndemufayo University of Angola. The integration is supported by a pedagogical strategy for environmental training that takes into account the methodological work, overcoming and contextualizing the environmental problem in the framework of the substantive activities of the university with appreciable results in the 23 projects of the works of culmination of Design course. The results improve the quality of the teaching-learning process in environmental design training in Angola with the interrelation of the university's substantive activities, the 2030 Agenda, the life cycle of product from the early stages of the design process and the consideration of environmental criteria. Also, it encourages the change of human behavior for more sustainable lifestyles, contributing to the verification of design quality with environmental improvements.
