Introduction:

The professionalization of health managers constitutes a task for the Ministries of Public Health and their subordinate entities in Cuba and the world. Computer advances and scientific-technical development make necessary a new perspective on the evolution of the methods of these professionals.

Objective:

To reflect on the professionalization of health managers from the perspective of the evolution of methods.

Development:

The managers of health institutions, in the current conditions must use a system of management methods that allow them to organize and influence the management subject in order to achieve their participation, training and development, as well as a high level of satisfaction and self-realization.

Conclusions:

Reflection on the professionalization of health managers from the perspective of the evolution of methods will contribute to introduce gradual and gradual changes in contextualized health management. This implies conceiving conditions to promote high performance professional teams, more adaptable to change and vision towards innovative and developmental management.
