Abstract

CRUZ BARRIOS, María Aida  and  FURONES MOURELLE, Juan Antonio. Use of the virtual classroom in the doctoral training process. Infodir [online]. 2022, n.39  Epub Dec 01, 2022. ISSN 1996-3521.

Introduction:

The epidemiological situation caused by COVID-19 leads to the use of action alternatives for the continuity of the training processes at the National School of Public Health, within which are the doctoral ones.

Objective:

To present the strategy used in the virtual classroom to develop a doctoral pre-defense exercise.

Development:

It was carried out at a distance with the support of the virtual classroom, Moodle platform. Its main achievements were its quality and rigor, endorsed by the observers. Among its disappointments was the difficulty of some member of the tribunal to download in time the video of the presentation due to its size.

Conclusions:

The continuity of the doctoral training process did not stop at the institution since a simple and quality strategy was used, supported by the tools provided by the virtual classroom. This experience can be used in all medical universities in the country, since all of them have the technological resources to do so.
