Abstract

RAMOS GONZALEZ, Roberto; CRUZ SOTOMAYOR, Maritza  and  NAVARRO RODRIGUEZ, Idaibel. Determination of the energy cost of forage harvesting for bovine livestock in Cuba . Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2012, vol.21, n.1, pp.73-78. ISSN 2071-0054.

The production of pasture and forage in the livestock entities constitute the fundamental basis in the feeding of the bovines for meat and milk. Forage harvesters are the fundamental mean to guarantee the fresh or conserved forage. The investigation was carried out with the harvesters Fraga P-150 and SPKZ-160 with the objective to carry out a comparative energetic evaluation using the tractor YUMZ-6. Was determined the productivity of both groups being obtained a value of 0.63 ha/h and 0.33 ha/h for the aggregates YUMZ-6 + Fraga P-150 and YUMZ-6 + SPKZ-160 respectively. Was used the methodologies proposed by several authors, to establish the energy cost in MJ/h and for unit of worked area (MJ/ha). This methodology determines the cost in MJ/h and costs for unit of worked area (MJ/ha), adding the energy kidnapped in the construction materials, and including the production and transport, fuel, lubricants, repair, maintenance, and the necessary manpower to operate the equipments.

Keywords : pasture; agricultural machines; silage harvester.
