Abstract

DE LA ROSA ANDINO, Alain Ariel et al. Validity assessment of the Constitutive Model Drucker Prager Extended for mechanical response simulation of a Vertisol in the central region of Cuba. Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2013, vol.22, n.1, pp.27-35. ISSN 2071-0054.

The present work takes place with the aim of evaluating the constituent model Drucker Prager Extended for the simulation of the mechanical answer of a Vertisol of the central region of Cuba through method of finite elements. For the simulation of the mechanical answer of the soil in study the software ABAQUS/CAE 6.8.1 was used as a computer tool. The simulation included: the description of the problem to simulate, definition of the virtual model, definition of the properties and parameters required by the constituent model, the establishment of the conditions of border, the creation of meshes of the finite element, the simulation of the mechanical answer of the soil determination of the prognosis mistake and if statistically significant difference between the accumulated distributions of the observed and predicted magnitudes exists. The results demonstrate that the exactitude of the model Drucker Prager Extended in the prediction of the mechanical answer of the soil study object, depends on their state of humidity and density bulk, as well as of the configuration of the model. The smaller mistake in the predictions (4,14 to 31,04%) were obtained, for a rank of values of humidity of 30 to 40% and density bulk of 1,05 to 1,10 g cm-3 respectively.

Keywords : Simulation; mechanical answer; numerical methods; constitutive models; mechanical properties; conditions of borders.
