Abstract

TORNES OLIVERAS, Norge; GOMEZ MASJUAN, Yarisbel  and  BOICET FABRE, Tony. Evaluation of irrigation quality in reel machine type IRROMOTOR. Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2013, vol.22, n.1, pp. 39-44. ISSN 2071-0054.

The research was carried out in the block 178, field 1, El Boris, in the Agricultural Production Cooperative "Omar Rivero" in Manzanillo (Granma. Cuba). It was aimed to evaluate the principal parameters that determine the quality of the watering in order to make it more efficient. The methodology employed was the Cuban Norm for Traveller Irrigation Machine- part 1: characteristic of the operation and methods of rehearsal of laboratory and field. The results express that the appraisals of application for the parcel have values of 16,08 mm·h-1, 18,86; 15,20;17,80 mm·h-1 for the I1, I2 and I3 lines respectively. These values are lower than the half speed of water infiltration into the floor, 22,00 mm·h-1. In the statistical parameters of watering the values of the rate of uniformity oscillated between 68% and 70% for the rows and for the fringe, it was 68%. The uniformity of distribution oscillated between 89% and 73% for the rows and 77% for the fringe. A tendency to an increment of the wind speed from the morning 1.28 mm·h-1 to the afternoon 1,55 mm·h-1 was observed. The drop-thickness index had a too small value (2), what means a risk for the hydro-physical properties of the soil.

Keywords : reel machine; uniformity coefficient; drop thickness index.
