The development of self-evaluation in the Angolan higher education institutions is in its initial phase of structuring. Certain autonomy to define their evaluation stage according to their organizational specificities, as long as that competence should be exercised without excluding the reference patterns of the national, regional and international system of evaluation. For such a reason, the present paper proposes a system of variables and indicators for the institutional self-evaluation of the university processes of the Higher Polytechnic Institute of Kwanza Sul, resulting from the documental analysis, the theoretical triangulation and the valuation of the members of the Scientific Council of the Higher Polytechnic Institute of Kwanza Sul, as well as of the executives of the Ministry of Higher Education of the Republic of Angola, by means of the method of group discussion or focal group. It was composed by 8 variables and 21 indicators characterized by a systemic, holistic and contextual approach that contributes to the continuous and systematic improvement of the Higher Education of the Republic of Angola.
