Abstract

ANTUNEZ SAIZ, Vivian Isabel; FERNANDEZ LLORET, María V.  and  DELGADO FERNANDEZ, Mercedes. Quality, Environment, Safety, Health, and Internal Control in Today's Economical Context: Diagnosis Made in a Cuban Pharmaceutical Laboratory. Cofin [online]. 2017, vol.11, n.1, pp.1-12. ISSN 2073-6061.

There is an increasing tendency in organizational environment for several management systems -such as a quality management system based on ISO 9001; an environmental management system based on ISO 14001; and an occupational health and safety management system based on OSHAS 18001- to be integrated. This way, organizations manage their processes and offer higher-quality products and services, preserving the environment and promoting safe and healthy working environments. In the context of the updating of the Cuban economic model, it is of great importance to Cuba to adopt such standards because the country can achieve a more competitive market position and build an image based on customer and interested party trust. This paper presents the results of a diagnosis of quality, environmental, occupational health and safety, and internal control and risk management, made in a Cuban pharmaceutical laboratory.

Keywords : diagnosis; efficiency; pharmaceutical industry; management system.
