Abstract

This work is aimed at showing that economic indicators of production included in the instrument Cooperative Social Balance ICA-FLACSO-PC (ICA stands for Instituto de Ciencia Animal -Institute of Animal Science; FLACSO, Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales -Latin American School of Social Sciences; and PC, Participación Ciudadana -Citizen Participation- are suitable for assessing milk-producing Credit and Services Cooperatives’ social responsibility. These indicators are evaluated on the basis of the criteria they use to assess this kind of cooperative. The work reached the conclusion that, in order to assess producing companies’ level of social responsibility, specific indicators which measure their productive economic activities, in accordance with their characteristics, and the tasks they perform are required.
