Corporate social responsibility has been more carefully examined over the last few decades. Peculiarities of and trends in the 21 st century have revealed the need for it to be considered a factor essential to sustainable development. However, there is still no consensus as to the conceptualization and generation of new knowledge of this phenomenon. Its effective research and management relies on understanding it correctly, and for this, it is necessary to study its epistemology in depth, which is the goal of this work.
