Abstract

TRAVIESO MARTIN, Cinthia. Productivity and Theories of Economic Growth. Cofin [online]. 2022, vol.16, n.1  Epub Dec 07, 2021. ISSN 2073-6061.

Studies on economic growth are oriented towards two fundamental aspects: increasing production and ensuring its sustainability. Generally speaking, they can be grouped into three major groups. The first contains the so-called classics of economic thought, who developed general theories of the phenomenon based on historical, sociological and political aspects, without delving into the productive aspects themselves. The second brings together economists who followed the doctrines developed by the former and incorporated economic development as an object of study in many of their theses. The third and last grouping is composed of modern growth theories. This study analyzes the implications of productivity for economic growth from the different schools of thought

Keywords : economy; production; economic theory..
