Abstract

The investigation presents the procedure for analyzing the risks associated with financing granted by Cuban banking institutions to the self-employment. The materialist dialectic was used as a general method of knowledge, broken down into theoretical and empirical methods, which allowed make the procedure composed of phases, stages and steps. Finally, the essential elements covered by the procedure are outlined, such as the preparation of the risk matrix, the risk map and the risk prevention plan, with the objective of plotting actions that contribute to diminish the portfolio of overdue loans in Cuban banking institutions.
