This work presents an overview of the situation of micro, small and medium-sized companies in the city of Guayaquil and their development during the confinement measures taken from the pandemic of covid-19 during the years 2020-2021. The results that demonstrate the different modifications that the MSMEs of the city of Guayaquil have had to use to move from traditional models of operation and adapt to a new modality of remote work through the use of ICTs. It also presents how the university can contribute to these needs.
