Abstract

Introduction: the Educational Communication emerges as a specific area of the Sciences of the Education. The educational organization depends much of the communication, and both are indissoluble processes, of supreme importance for the activity system of the youths' communication. Objective: to propose a Psychoeducational Guide to improve the teaching-learning communication toward the first course of stomatology students; this process embraced the period of November 2012 to May 2013. Methods: the qualitative methodology was used, with a descriptive and traverse study. The sample belonged to 35 first course students, selected in an intentional way. The instruments for the collection of information: questionnaire; semi-unstructured interviews; rain of ideas and tail of cloud. It was used the triangulation of information like fundamental methodology of analysis of the results. Results: in the diagnosis of the necessities, it was obtained that dissent exists in the students because the professors stimulate its participation in the educational aspects, and they only worry about their problems in the instructive area; besides difficulties in the professors to identify the communication barriers that coexist among both parts; with inadequacy of methods and strategies to make efficient the educational exchange. Conclusions: the difficulties in the teaching-learning communication toward these students are related with the communication styles assumed by the teachers and the handling of the barriers that are presented in this process. The Psychoeducational Guide has the objective of improving the communication process.
