Abstract

Background:

b-learning increases student motivation and incorporates digital tools into the teaching-learning process.

Objective:

determine the contribution of b-learning to the management process of independent work in the Biological Bases of dentistry discipline.

Methods:

the research was carried out during the 2021 academic year and corresponds to one of the specific strategic actions for the improvement of the independent work management process in the discipline Biological Bases of dentistry, in the Faculty of dentistry of the University of Medical Sciences of Pinar del Rio. Theoretical methods were used: analysis-synthesis and induction-deduction and empirical: observation of teaching activities.

Results:

the orientation of independent work was carried out through a system of integrative teaching tasks, the solution of which was carried out in a b-learning learning environment, supported by a brainstem teaching media system, characterized by the integration of traditional media and conceptual maps made by applying the tools of information and communications technologies. Motivation was found in the students, which increased independent activity and influenced their correct self-preparation and the good development of cognitive independence.

Conclusions:

the application of b-learning, supported by the integrated system of teaching aids, showed its effectiveness in contributing to the improvement of the management process of independent work in the Biological Bases of Dentistry discipline.
