Abstract

Cuban Freemasonry was recognized as a promoter of revolutions of the nineteenth century and twentieth noble causes, however, during the revolutionary processes in the thirties and fifties there was an ambiguity in the discourse of Cuban Masonic government. Addressing the official discourse of the Grand Lodge of Cuba in contrast to the actions of their lodges on one side and the other of the Masonic University of Cuba, it is the objective of this work. Masons participation in revolutionary activities like joining the Movimiento 26 de Julio or other organizations, or the actions of Holguin ´lodge in the surrender of the city, also the commitment of the AJEF with the revolution or the existence of a militia FEN in the Masonic University of Cuba are elements of discussion of this work in contrast to the official request of the leadership of the Cuban Masonry of respect for peace and peaceful developments.
