In this effort, the teacher is the key and from the methodological point of view it requires to conceptualize and define policies of training to the exercise from a positive climate for teaching and learning civic and professional responsibility of health promotion. A proposal that advocates for the idea of taking the preparation as a response to the challenge of Ecuadorian universities of facing health promotion is discussed. The proposal starts from studies about the formative dimensions of postgraduate trainers to improve their teaching performance and the result of the instruments applied prove that the professors were not prepared for health promotion as part of the teaching activity.
