Abstract

This study aimed to propose a process for inventory management in the central warehouse of a commercial chain. The purpose is to reduce the associated costs to inventories in the state and improve customer service. The procedure is divided into stages and steps and in each of them the techniques and tools that can be used to determine the input parameters (demand and costs) are described, proper selection of mathematical models to be applied and analysis the results so that it can be determined how much and when to ask for the products to be studied. The feasibility of the proposed upon application of a product and to assess their economic and service level advantages over the current method used procedure is checked.
