URQUIOLA SANCHEZ, Orquídea; ZULUETA TORRES, Orestes Raúl  and  LLANO RODRIGUEZ, Rachel. INNOVATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: AN EXPERIENCE IN CIENFUEGOS, CUBA. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2017, vol.9, n.1, pp. 106-113. ISSN 2218-3620.

In this context the present study is carried out with the aim of designing the management process of science and technological innovation in the territory of Cienfuegos as a contribution to its sustainable development. During the development of the research, a group of statistical, mathematical and foresight processing tools are applied. This provided an updated innovation image, science and environmental management in Cienfuegos territory, which initially allows an approach and applied consecutively familiarization with the process. Its novelty is that a process approach is used to integrate activities characterized by a high degree of intangibility and complexity which differ from those of the organizations that make up the world which accept this management philosophy. The main results focus on an analysis of the behavior of innovation, science and environmental management in the territory and its reconceptualization is achieved by weighting variables and design process supported by the use of dissimilar tools which demonstrate the feasibility of the proposal.
