Abstract

The overcoming of primary teachers has gone through different times as a reflection of the application of educational policy and the results of conceptual, organizational, methodological and practical studies, mainly. The results of the diagnosis show that teachers of primary education have inadequacies in their environmental pedagogical professional performance, expressed in the lack of systematic and intentionality of the modalities of improvement in this subject, which do not meet the expectations to face this work. The workshop system developed as a way of overcoming these shortcomings enhances and the systematization of the participants' experiences are conceived based on the results of the contextualized diagnosis according to the demands of the curriculum, the pedagogical practice and the local environmental situation. The subjects were suggested by the teachers, others were included due to their importance serve as a theoretical and methodological platform for updating the contents of the Environmental Education for Sustainable Development. It was found in practice that through its application it is possible to influence in a favorable way to overcome the insufficiencies that teachers present in their environmental pedagogical professional performance in the context of the Education Ministry improvement.
