Abstract

The work highlights the place that music occupies and the value of responsibility in the development of today's society and the need to continue researching in the scientific way in the search for proposals that pay tribute to the improvement of the teaching-learning process of Musical Education in the Secondary School. In this order, it presents a critical analysis of the musical methods recognized in the twentieth century, their origins, contributions, applicability and limitations that show in the educational field, in particular, in the formation of responsibility value in the adolescent student. From this theoretical position, we recognize the instructional, guiding and educational functions of the method as a category of didactics. In the opinion of the authors, their use does not respond to a rigid scheme, but to the pedagogical, sociological and sociocultural characteristics in which the student develops. In this perspective, we think of an integrating method, in which the teaching-learning process of Musical Education is related to the sphere that induces the student's personality, in particular, the formation of responsibility value in the Secondary School, given the current social demands on the educational system and the reality of education in Cali, Colombia.
