The objective of this research work is to propose a system of measures to contribute to the increase of the economically active population of the sector of the sugar industry of Cienfuegos. The population aging process is examined both globally and in Cuba, and mainly in the sector of the sugar industry of the Cienfuegos territory where there has been a marked decrease in the active labor force mainly at young ages. This study promotes alternatives that could be implemented in order to mitigate the negative effects of population aging and its challenges in the sector. It responds to comply the Economic and Social Policy of the Party and the Revolution) that exposes the need to implement strategies or actions in the Cuban reality.
