In order to achieve the goals of the 2030 agenda, the world economy must be dynamic and inclusive. To achieve this goal, the necessary relationship between sustainability and the three components of the monetary sector must be taken into account, understood as: money market (people), financial system (institutions) and monetary system (money). On the other hand, the sustainable production and consumption approach is also essential. In that sense, Costa Rica has made progress in meeting the proposed goals, being the first country in the world to sign a national pact for the fulfillment of sustainable development goals. That is why this work aims to: analyze the policies and strategies implemented in Costa Rica for sustainable development, through the monetary, production and consumption sectors. For the conduct of the investigation, theoretical methods were used: the exegetical, the logical historical, the synthetic analytical, and from the empirical level, the analysis of documents.
