Abstract

This article responds to a descriptive investigation of bibliographical review type with qualitative approach, with the purpose of contributing to the dissemination of environmental knowledge from the reflective positioning. Based on exegetics, analysis and synthesis, and documentary review, as well as the technique of content analysis. This allowed us to arrive at conclusions about the eco centric theory that conceives nature as a subject of rights, the treatment of these rights in the Ecuadorian legal system, the effectiveness of Environmental Law and the need to promote an environmental culture as a tool to diminish the negative impact of the human activity on nature.
