VERAMENDI VILLAVICENCIOS, Nancy Guillermina; PORTOCARERO MERINO, Ewer  and  BARRIONUEVO TORRES, Clorinda Natividad. Food culture in regular basic education students: an educational approach. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2020, vol.12, n.1, pp. 307-312.  Epub Feb 02, 2020. ISSN 2218-3620.

This investigation was carried out with the objective of determining the effectiveness of a demonstration workshop on healthy lunchbox in food culture. It was a quasi-experimental study with pre-test and post-test on the same group, consisting of 30 primary school children of the National College of Application, National University Hermilio Valdizán, Huánuco, 2019. An observation guide was used in data collection. In the inferential analysis the Wilcoxon test was used. The findings indicate that the average score obtained in the food culture before the educational intervention was 17.4, and after this, it was 23.0, finding significant differences with p≤0,000. Likewise, there were significant differences in the dimensions of the food culture, nutritional knowledge, lunchbox preparation and eating habits, all with p≤0.05. It is concluded that the educational intervention through a demonstration workshop on healthy lunchbox favors the development of the food culture in primary school children.
