Abstract

This research was carried out to analyze the evolution, present and challenges of the environmental dimension in the Agronomy major in Cuban universities. For this purpose, classical documents related with the topic were studied from where the evolutional tendencies of this dimension in the process of professional initial formation were extracted. Present tendencies were evidenced from the Syllabus D which enabled synthesizing the environmental dimension in its curricular grid. Likewise, contemporary authors were consulted for the validation of this dimension. The challenges were established taken into consideration the history, present and deficiencies contained in the consulted bibliography where the transformation of behavioral modes is the most important challenge to meet within the professional initial formation of Agronomy.
