Abstract

IVANOVA, Tatyana; GUBANOVA, Natalia; SHAKIROVA, Indira  and  MASITOH, Fitri. Educational technology as one of the terms for enhancing public speaking skills. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2020, vol.12, n.2, pp. 154-159.  Epub Apr 02, 2020. ISSN 2218-3620.

Public speaking is a complex action. In a public speech, physical activity is used (the work of the speech organs in the process of voicing speech, facial expressions, gestures, body movements), and intellectual activity (text production), and the mental component (feelings, emotions of the speaker). Therefore, the speaker has to use all the capabilities of the body. In addition, for a successful performance, a certain educational base is necessary, as well as preparation for a specific performance. Taking into account Russia's entry into the Bologna process at present, state educational organizations of various countries, as well as financial and industrial corporations form “portfolio of competences”, on the basis of which personnel are trained, evaluated and selected, it becomes obvious that the formation of communicative competence is an important condition for quality education. Communicative competence refers to the basic competencies of a modern person. In this article, the authors consider general recommendations for public speaking using educational technology. The principles of preparing a speech to the audience, the development of a step-by-step methodology for compiling a public speech were also highlighted. Among educational technologies, the authors propose using interactive forms of learning that are most appropriate for successful preparation for public speaking.
