Abstract

This study explores the conflict management styles used by majors of decentralized autonomous governments (GAD) of rural parishes in a region of Ecuador, under the perception of their inhabitants. Citizen’s demographic characteristics are also showed in the research looking forward to establish the relations with the perception that they have in the parishes by their leaders. Through the quantitative method, 305 citizens of different parishes were surveyed with the DUTCH questionnaire’s. A descriptive analysis was developed to, empirically, identify the relationship between these variables. The results show that there are different perceptions in the minds of the residents about their regents influenced on variables such as gender, level of education, income or activity.
