Abstract

Poverty is considered globally as a social evil that affects the development and growth of countries and this leads to the existence of inequality and exclusion in society. The objective of the research is to analyze from a reflexive and explanatory approach the evolution of poverty levels in Ecuador during the period 2017 to 2019. The research is based on the analysis of theories and statistical data from sources of bibliographic revision of the INEC and Central bank of Ecuador. The type of study was exploratory, in addition it is using the method of analytical-synthetic research, and it was developed throughout Ecuador, considering aspects such as: poverty and extreme poverty, geographical area, sex, ethnicity, age, cities and regions. The fundamental results were that poverty levels have had an increasing behavior during the aforementioned years the development of the country being affected.
