Abstract

The present study shows obtained findings during the develop of the doctoral research of the first author, whose objective is to evaluate the Economic Sustainability of renewable energy investment. It has two important sections: First, it is analyzed, by a critical view, the main theoretical - methodological trends of specialized sources; second, it is showed the main results of the diagnostics carried on in the renewable energetic sector of Sancti Spiritus province, Cuba. The main theoric evidence suggests a heterogeneous character of the proposed tools by the specialized community, being insufficient from economic - finance optics; in relation with the main practical evidence it is appreciated a minimum use of these tools in that territory, with extension all over the country. The employed methods combine the documentary revision, the critical opinions of the authors, the recompilation of field data (mainly feasibility studies) and the application of a questionnaire to the human capital of the most representative entities.
