Abstract

COLOMA SALAZAR, Manuel Enrique; ARZOLA RUIZ, José  and  MARRERO FORNARIS, Clara Elena. Distribution management and route planning in the Cuban business sector. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.5, pp.357-368.  Epub Oct 30, 2022. ISSN 2218-3620.

The main function of distribution management in the Cuban business sector is transportation. To correctly carry out the distribution of goods and/or services, it is necessary to build or plan routes that are based on Vehicle Routing Problems, one of the most studied problems of the Operations Research in the specialized literature. Although the solution of these problems in the Cuban context is vitally important, there is no evidence of exhaustive work with proposals that can be generalized and applied to real situations of the business sector. That is why this work focuses on making an analysis of distribution management and route planning to detect future lines of research that are so important in the field of logistics in Cuba. Articles indexed in Scopus are used for the international analysis. As main sources of information for the national analysis are selected the doctoral theses in Technical Sciences and master's degrees defended between 2000 and 2021, the journal of Investigación Operacional and the journal of Ingeniería Industrial.

Keywords : Transport; Distribution management; Vehicle routing; Route planning.
