In Ecuador, the indigenous people represent an important portion of the population living in poverty. This economic precariousness conditions a limitation in the access to material resources and services, as well as the full enjoyment of basic human rights, which also entails the appearance of social problems such as stigmatization and social rejection, leading to exclusion within society. This part of the population is identified by a lack of information regarding sexual and reproductive education, which is correlated with sexually transmitted diseases, unwanted pregnancies, transmission of STIs and a consequent perpetuation and increase in poverty levels. The objective is to identify the factors that have the greatest impact on the lack of sexual education in the community of San José in the canton of Arajuno. For the analysis of the situation, the following techniques were used: Problem Solution Analysis Method (MASP), PESTEL and AHP Saaty. It was concluded that, although the economic and social factors have the highest incidence, all of them are a consequence of poverty and at the same time act as transmitters of it, from one generation to another, deepening the hardship and economic precariousness of this social group, therefore, action on them will condition an improvement in the living conditions and sexual health of this population.
