Abstract

The objective of the research was to diagnose good environmental practices to analyze business sustainability in SMEs in the province of Guayas, Ecuador. The research followed a non-experimental design, with a descriptive and transversal approach. The analysis units were made up of 343 SMEs from the most relevant economic sectors in the city. The survey was used as a data collection technique, and the questionnaire as an instrument. The evaluation carried out revealed that the use of ecological aspects to promote your service or product generated the lowest score (1.40). The dimensions: Environmental training and environmental conservation presented weights less than 2.00; Therefore, practices such as carrying out environmental training programs and investing in environmental conservation are not consolidated in the different sectors of the city. The diagnosis carried out showed the urgent need to educate microentrepreneurs in relation to environmental concerns.
